About Piper Aircraft
A popular name in aviation and air charter services, Piper Aircraft, Inc. was originally formed in 1927 as Taylor Brothers Aircraft Manufacturing Company. After a few changes concerning ownership and bankruptcy, in the late 1930s, the company was acquired by William Thomas Piper, Sr., who came to be known as the Henry Ford of aviation. He believed that everyone should be able to access aircrafts. Therefore, he set the foundation of Piper Aircraft—to make aircrafts that suit a wide variety of people, budgets, and needs. Popular in air charter, Piper offers trainers, turbo-props, business aircraft, and more. Models include the Piper Seneca V, the Piper Arrow, the Piper Archer, the Piper Mirage, and the Piper Warrior. Piper is still new to the jet market. The PiperJet is the company’s first jet—prototypes were unveiled in 2007. The Very Light Jet (VLJ) features advanced avionics and other features that allow it to compete with the Cessna Citation Mustang and the Eclipse 500. A single-engine jet, referred to as a “sport utility jet,” the PiperJet is ideal for private jet charter. Piper Aircraft, Inc. knows that it is not easy for pilots to transition from planes to jets, therefore it has created the Piper Linkage Program which makes the transition easy and smooth.
